Writing about rainWriting about rain comes naturally to me,  it is one of the things I can write about and never run out of things to say.

It always makes me a little sad, fills me with an unknown longing, it throws me sometimes into a spiritual trance in which all the life  around seems to take on a new meaning.

With each clap of thunder I can sense the retribution against injustice, with each drop of water that touches the earth I can feel the benediction of goodness, the blessing of plenty, the promise of well-being.

Writing about rain is a pleasure.

Letting myself be bathed in it is a greater one, one that I have denied myself over the years.

Maybe today is the day I should indulge myself?

I love to write about the rain, too. Coming from the country of frequent rain showers, the inspiration is easily available. I still have to post my poem, “April Rain” in my web nook – I wrote it April, 2006 and I’m planning to post it in my blog timely for April this year.

I wrote a Haiku which I think I posted some time ago in my web nook and I’d like to share with you:

    “Raindrops”

    Cool western breezes

    Shake the lucid liquid beads

    Off the sturdy tree.

    I wish you well.

Go ‘head, run around in the rain with childlike abandon, feel the cool droplets as they crash on your warm skin, seep to your scalp through the web of your hair, run in rivulets down your arms and face … then write, write, write!

    🙂

Go ahead! Indulge away. Go get drenched, then write about it. I’ll be sure to read all about it :] .
