Writing about different perspectives

Writing about Different PerspectivesI’ve been writing a series of articles on Italian designer handbags: Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and so on. A Fendi bag in Crocodile skin can cost upto 40,000 usd. The price of a car, from where I’m looking. While I’m tempted to own at least a “low-rung” designer offering (about 1,500 to 2,000usd), I don’t think I can afford to give in.

I think of the millions who do not have enough for their day to day meals, and try to imagine what they must think of my spending habits. Stratospheric, I suppose. Which is what I think of millionaire lifestyles.

All different perspectives. Another reason not to go designer bag shopping.

Italy sets the standards for all things stylish, elegant and of top quality. Fashion and clothing, leather, home design, ceramics, jewelry and so on; but the truth is that these bags or jewelry or clothes are adddressed to a special people or markets not only in Italy but around the world, above all we sell these products at these prices to wealthy arabian people ( Dubai, Oman, etc) or for the richest people in USA for example.Italy instead has a long-standing tradition of beauty and craftsmanship which is not only found in big name products, but in lesser known specialty items discovered in the boutiques and the street markets. Anyone can go to the mall and buy an Armani shirt and other items that are unique and seem like they were made especially for you. A luxury dress or bag are something that people often dream for years and save money to be able to enjoy. I’m not agree about it. You can find beautiful things at more affordable prices and you have a lots of opportunities to look beautiful and unique without “bleed”.

Wow. And to think how guilty I felt getting my halfprice Cole Haan bag for about $200…clearly I’m not ready for the jet set.

  • 910 words is great!

As for the bag, it doesn’t help the unfortunate when you don’t buy something unless you give the money to a charity which helps them. Therefore, buying the bag if it is within your budget is not an bad thing. It’s all relative.
