Where do you write?

Like I’ve said before, these days I have trouble getting down to write, not just because time is in short supply, but also I’m too exhausted to do anything but lie down or write a blog post whenever I do get the time. Ill health does not help.
But I found that one of the things blocking me (I’ve barely produced 20,000 words the last two months…if I do not include my morning pages and other crap I fill my notebooks with) is the clutter on my desk
From my study window I have an unblocked view of the city, and though it is not the most inspiring of views during the day time…shopping lots distant parks and roads…at night Singapore lights up, and I don’t have much to complain of.
But I don’t see much of  it, because of things stacked on my table. The other day, on the suggestion of my better half, I de-cluttered the table, and it has made a difference. I feel free-er, less burdened, and more inspired to let go and launch into a story! As they say in Feng shui, the Chi is definitely flowing much better.
How and where do you sit and write? What does your writing desk look like?

Damyanti, considering how we continue to visit the same Blogger friends, thus crossing paths 'en route, I've decided to drop by for a visit:)

Yes, de-cluttering definitely promotes flow,(or so my wife insists!)

My writing pad is an antique table, built for one, in a corner nook of our family office. Cluttered at times, its where my chi awakens:)

    Glad I dropped by,

I can not write when my desk is cluttered. I have to clean it first. Also, my office is in my bedroom and when my bed is unmade, I can't write either. It's funny how just making my bed can make such a difference.

Cool question. I write at the kitchen table, uncluttered, with a pot of coffee and my collection of vintage and mid-century mugs at the ready. My view out the window is of a bush which hosts so many fat little robins at certain times of the year, their chorus overpowers the music in my headphones.

I'm on a laptop so I can write wherever but it's usually in my glider chair. I keep the laptop on a small TV Tray so there's not much room for clutter to grow around. Instead it all gets put on the end table next to me. From where I sit I get a great view of the dirty dishes in the kitchen too!

Since I got my laptop, I'm usually at the kitchen table. It's sort of the hub of the house, so I can keep an eye on everything from here 🙂 One of these days though, I'd love to have an actual office with a door that closes, and locks, to hide away in 😀
