Rains in My Grandma’s Village in Hinterland India

August in India is all about rains.

I spoke to my grandma today and she said it hasn’t stopped raining in days. I miss her, and miss rains in her village— so I thought I’d share a few pictures of the rainy season in her village in hinterland India–  as green and peaceful as her heart, and as full of blessings:

Damyanti Biswas is the author of You Beneath Your Skin and numerous short stories that have been published in magazines and anthologies in the US, the UK, and Asia. She has been shortlisted for Best Small Fictions and Bath Novel Awards and is co-editor of the Forge Literary Magazine.
