I’ve been noting the frequency of posts by my blogging buddies via Triberr.com. (If you haven’t heard of the site, I suggest you check it out.)
Everyday, I log on in the morning, approving blog posts to go out in my twitter stream — and since Triberr has set a limit of 100 posts daily, I’ve begun to notice how many posts I approve, and from whom, each day.
Bottom line, some people post 5 times a month, and some take it to an astonishing 65!
Personally, I’ve always had a goal of two posts per blog per week, or 8 times a month, since I run this blog, and Daily (w)rite. I haven’t really managed that down the 4 years I’ve had both. I’ve sometimes gone on a month-long hiatus, or more.
To me, blogging is a pleasure, a sort of indulgence, and when I get busy, it is the first thing to go. I do miss my blog buddies, but sometimes writing, or life, has to take precedence. Besides, I find I often don’t have anything worthwhile to say, and I don’t like the idea of posting just for the sake of it. Not that all my posts are stellar, but I know that an overwhelming number of them haven’t been a chore.
So how many times do you blog each month? What are your reasons for blogging the number of times in a month you do?
To the folks who post every single day or more than once a day: how do you manage it? Does it pay off? Does it ever feel like a lot of work?
