Yes, I actually forgot about my 5th Blog Anniversary for this blog.
It passed by 3 days ago.
But that’s just the first reason I’ll never make a great blogger. Here are the others:
1. I can never blog every day of the week, unless it is April, for the A to Z Challenge. Oh, wait. Even that is 6 days a week.
2. I’ve never done a giveaway, ever. I’ve only ever (co) organized one blogfest, the Rule of Three. And the A to Z Challenge last April and again this year, but in this I’ll be part of the best team in the world, and work with a dozen other co-hosts. I won’t be doing any blog gymnastics, I’ll tell you that right away.
3. I comment sporadically. Some days I go blog-browsing, others I just don’t. I lurk often, reading posts and not commenting. I somehow imagine folks would know I’ve been visiting.
So, I’m not the best blogger material, for sure.
But I find I still have blog friends, who will cheer me up, bail me out, talk to me. I’m blessed, and I don’t do anything to deserve it. Both my blogs are still running after 5 years. I enjoy the posts I write. I write when I want, stay away when I like — I have complete freedom.
So who cares if I won’t make the best blogger? I’m happy doing what I’m doing, and I love my blogging, no matter how sloppy or irregular it is.
I embrace myself with all my imperfections, so no reason I shouldn’t embrace my blog.
This anniversary (the one I forgot to mark), I’ll not feel sorry for my shortcomings as a blogger. I’ll just accept my blog and my blogging for what it is.
After all, we have to love ourselves before we can truly love anyone else.
So dear Amlokiblogs, you just turned 5, and I love you. Let’s celebrate!
