CassaFire by Alex J Cavanaugh #atozchallenge

The A to Z April Blogging Challenge 2013   is off to a roaring start! Are you guys keeping up? I’m co-hosting it on Amlokiblogs, so drop me a comment there if you have something to say about the challenge itself. On this blog, I’ll be featuring (mostly) indie-published book excerpts for all of April. I love reading, and supporting author-friends, and this is a good way to do both.

Today, for C, I give you a space opera: CassaFire by Alex J Cavanaugh.

This is the third book in a series. His first book was  CassaStar,  and the sequel, CassaFire —  both books are Amazon bestsellers, published by Dancing Lemur Press.

The third in the series, CassaStorm, will be released on September 17, 2013.

Elevator Pitch: A fun filled space opera of romance and adventure, CassaFire harkens back to its 80s influences like Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 20th Century, and Star Wars. Family friendly and sure to please fans of classic space opera in the Golden Age Style.

Excerpt:

Athee tossed her hair aside and eyed him expectantly. “I thought I’d ride in the cockpit with you.”

“That’s probably not a good idea.”

“Why not?”

“That’s the co-pilot’s seat.”

“Do you have a co-pilot?”

“Well, no…”

“Then this seat is open.”

Byron sighed in exasperation. Releasing her seat, he ran his fingers through his hair. This woman is too stubborn for her own good, he thought.
