Teaser Tuesday: A #Book by an #Author Friend

This Tuesday, it is time for the teaser again, and this time the book is by a fellow author and blogging friend, Cherie Rich.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Men of Foxwick by Cherie Rich

Men of Foxwick by Cherie Rich

Here are two teaser sentences from Men of Foxwick:

A sob hitched in Mama’s throat as she emitted a mouse-like squeak. She embraced him tightly and then smoothed his damp hair from his face. “My sweet boy, I’m so, so sorry.”

Men of Foxwick is a collection of fantasy short stories, and it helped me stay away in a different world during a particularly depressing cloudy weekend here in Singapore. The characters engaged me, be it a blind teenager trying to find his place in the world, a woodsman who became a spy, a swordmaster par excellence, a monarch in love, and a hunter trying out his luck. If you like fantasy, and I do, this book is a good pastime. Buy it on: Amazon / Amazon UK / Smashwords / Kobo / Nook
