Are you conscious of living, of being Alive? #amwriting

Writing fiction is a hit and miss affair– some days you do well, other days you don’t. But the point is to keep at it, and keep on keeping at it.

And the reason is not just to make a living, which is important. It is also not to make a record of living, which is important too.

It is to be conscious of living– the most important of all– because that is what separates the beasts from the humans.

Writing is not the only way, but it is one of the significant ways of developing this consciousness. Are you conscious of living, of being Alive?

If you’re not a writer, nor can you be bothered about being conscious of being alive, I have more tangible stuff about blogging in my post at Blogging from A to Z April Challenge 🙂

that's a very thoughtful question. Sometime while writing, I feel things… I feel the words, which itself is an experience of a kind.

To fully experience life, one has to know what makes them content. I am most content when allowing my creativity to burst forth while writing (Okay, wine may also play a part…). And some of the best fun can be in writing badly.

I like to think I come alive to you through my writing. Although, am I alive? Have I really left a comment?

If you write, you are a writer. I think I shall hibernate during April. I'm dreaded that month. Take care, Damyanti.

Writing pulls thoughts out of me way better than a shrink ever could.

    Loved your post!

Writing, music, painting…just expressing is so key to maintaining consciousness.

    The Immarcescible Word

  • Writing is a deep connection with yourself, everything around you and your imagination. I really like this quote because it describes writing as a deep experience. Which it is. Writing is more than just words on paper.

I never actually thought about it that way before – that being conscious of living is what separates us from the beasts – but it's absolutely correct. Yes, I AM conscious of living! (Although I'll be more conscious of living once I drink another cup of coffee! lol)

  • Music – playing and creating it – also invoke living.

  • I love the part about writing not being a record of living. This is so important to remember when writing fiction. Being conscious of life and embracing the act of living is essential to human survival.
