Kl Noir Blue, Buku Fixi, Malaysia
KL Noir: Blue

One of the joys of the writing life is to see your work in print.

It isn’t really my greatest joy, because that really comes from finishing a story, or from going back and reading an old story and going, Ok, that’s not too bad.

But I also understand that part of being a writer is to reach readers, to have a reader imagine your story in their heads.

In the past few months, I saw bits and pieces of my writing in books and journals:

Talking about Rape in When Women Waken

An Orchestrated Ending in KL Noir : Blue ,which is an anthology of noir stories set in Malaysia. Love that a some of the other contributors are well known names in the current Malaysian crop of writers.

Extinguished and Extinct, An Anthology of things that no longer exist
Extinguished and Extinct

Fire, Extinguished in Extinguished and Extinct, an anthology by Twelve Winters Press, USA, in which the other contributors range from PEN award winners, lecturers and editors, professors of creative writing to those with at least an MFA. I have the distinct suspicion that my story was chosen merely for its title.

Which of your works have come out in print recently? Could you link us to them so we can take a look?

Unfortunately am not a writer. I don't think I have it in me to get published at places other than my blog πŸ™

But I do love reading fellow bloggers, who will turn into published writers one day. And that includes you πŸ™‚

    Hey Damyanti,

What a kind thing to do. I have no links to anything I've published in print. I am just somebody who dabbles a bit in the blogging world. I'm okay with just being an obscure amateur amongst the professionals. I have achieved the interaction that I had wished for, even in the background.

Enjoy your Sunday, my good friend.

Hello! Thank you for coming by my blog and liking my post. Your blogs are excellent! As I'm new, I don't want to take advantage by posting my links in front of people who have been following you all along, but I will surely be back. Have a good one!

Congrats on the publication of your recent pieces. All the hard work does pay off! I recently had an article published in the Good Men Project online magazine. It's not my first published piece but it's my first on this big of a stage. I was very excited to be a contributor in this fabulous arena! And it's about an issue near and dear to my heart: body image. Thanks for the opportunity to share it here! http://goodmenproject.com/featured-content/best-worst-f-words-jnord/

Congratulations! That's awesome!!! I think your story was chosen because you're a talented writer. I'm not convinced that an MFA makes one a better writer necessarily. You can learn the mechanics of writing ad nauseum, but voice is something you either have or don't.

Let me know when the novel comes out, and if you would like it promoted on my blogs πŸ™‚

Off to check out your link.
