Writing about Christmas Charity

Writing on this blog has now come to a total standstill. It has less to do with the fact that I am busy, and more to do with the fact that the more I see of humanity, the less I’m impressed with it, and the less inclined I am to write.

I read this post today, and got into a bad mood directly. I am angry about what happened in Mumbai, I am sad about how little it has changed things in India.

A French organizations sends Christmas Gifts to Indian kids, they are sent free of charge because the airline believes in charity. When it reaches India, the abominations in the name of human beings which are the Indian “Customs Officials”, ask for Bribes so they can do what they are paid a salary to do: to sign on the documents for releasing the cargo. That the consignment consists of gifts for underprivileged children makes no difference to them.

I wonder how the kids of these “Customs Officials” would suffer from the bad karma their parents are earning.

I have been told that every bad deed has its repercussions, but I am now too angry to wait for the guilty to be punished in another life, another time.

I have nowhere to keep my anger and helplessness, and I’m feeding it, because once I begin to see red, I will get off my butt and start doing something about it

I SO hate being an armchair activist.

I spend a lot of time wondering, Are things getting worse and worse? Or have they always been this bad and we just hear about so much more now? Whatever the answer, the world has been very, very depressing lately.

Isn’t it sad, the depth of pain humans will bring to each other?

Have a Merry Christmas, Damyanti. I’ll be praying for you.
