Writing can be painful sometimes. You might want to write a lot, be full of ideas before going to bed, and wake up with absolute dread to an empty day of writing for work, and not for pleasure. Or, worse still, to a day of enforced writing when you need to purge yourself of all the rubbish that has been accumulating within you, or even dig for useful items, poking around in all that gunk for that spark.

Writing is difficult, difficult business.

Not to say utterly exhausting, draining.

But you must march on, brave soldier, don’t let a few ambushes, bullet wounds, or foot rots do you in. Soldiers march, that is what they do. And writers write. So just get on with already, will you?
