Mina Lobo and David Macaulay have come up with The Big Reveal bloghop to celebrate the mother of all bloghops, the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge, and as a co-host of said challenge, I’m thrilled to take part.
This bloghop is for participants in the challenge, and if you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? This Challenge will change your blog for the better, for all years to come. I should know, because that is what the A to Z Challenge did for this blog and Daily (w)rite.
As readers of this blog will tell you, I’m not a prolific blogger, and not that great at commenting either. Apart from the fact that our blogging community is very generous, the fact that I have blog-friends who visit both this blog and Daily (w)rite is due to the A to Z Challenge, and the awesome people I got to know through it.
Which is why, I’m happy to have the opportunity to announce my theme for this year: Self-examination in Writing.
I have a very long way to go as an author, and I believe the deeper I look inside, the closer I’ll get to who I am, as a writer, and as a human being. So, for April, this blog will go inwards. I’ll be wordless , and in silence, let wisdom come to me. I’ll respond to comments, but only in the spirit of encouraging discussion, not adding to it.
I’ll be sharing short phrases I have jotted down over the years, some from Lao Tzu, others from places I don’t remember. These might interest not just writers but folks from all walks of life. I’ll also add a picture of what I think best represents that phrase.
I’ll invite the audience to share their interpretation of the phrase. They’ll become my teachers, and in that way I hope to learn and grow.
Are you participating in the A to Z Challenge this year? Why or Why not? If you are, what is Your #atozchallenge theme ?
Beautiful, simply beautiful. The practice of letting wisdom come to you. Thank you. It pays to stay up blog hopping at 3 am after all !

I love this idea of wordless posts. Sometimes less is more. I might borrow this idea for a few posts. Best wishes to you!
Ana
I'm participating for the first time…seriously don't have much clue…!
Would require much determination…but seems like it is going to be huge fun!
All luck π
Lets see I will participate . All the best .

Your writing has some magic…
Good Luck
Thanks everyone for your comments! I've been traveling, so haven't been able to reply to all the comments. I plan to visit each of you back very soon π
I was going to go 'themeless' but have decided to use the challenge to share more of my first ever fictional character @lizzyredmond.
But she's going to speak for herself during April π
Cool theme– excited to see what you do with it.
It's an amazing theme and my friend added me on this fb group called A2Zers. I don't do it for lack of time. Also, I'm not that creative π
Great theme!
I'm participating too. I'm a little overwhelmed by the prospect of it all. But I am up for the challenge!
Hugs!
Valerie Nunez and the Flying Platypi
Looking forward to reading more about you in April.
This is definitely a unique idea. I'm looking forward to it!
omgosh–do i have to have a theme—-last year i found it sorta exhilarating to come up each day off the cuff with topics—ahemmm it seems i am missing the mark haha—but loving your theme!!!!
I think every writer should do a little self-introspection. I'm sure you are going to learn a lot during the challenge. Thanks for sharing this process with us because I'm sure other writers will learn from it too. Great theme. (:
Your theme sounds very intriguing.
I like this philosophical approach. Looking forward to your posts!
Very interesting – I can't wait to see how this goes for both you and your readers.
Good luck with A to Z! I think writing is a great way for us writers to examine who we are and to work through some of the stuff we'd normally keep bottled up inside.
Oh, I like your theme! Sounds great!
Introspection is something all great authors do. By that I mean, they know what their pain is, where it comes from and also their joys. Then they use it to write with passion and from the heart. So, my hats off to you and will look forward to reading your posts.
It sounds like a wonderful theme. One we can all learn from. I know your posts will be inspiring!
Indeed, my human friend. Self-examination in your writing. This, I'm sure will prove cathartic and therapeutic. I wish you and all those involved with the alphabet challenge, much fulfilment and interaction.
My human and I do not participate. We do not like to commit our blog to being tied up for a month with this challenge. And sadly, perhaps cynically, we've seen a number of folks who, we believe, join in for the wrong reasons. They blatantly self-promote and are only interested in accumulating followers. We find that sad when the true ethos is about positive interaction within a sharing, caring blogging community.
All the best,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! π
Interesting theme. Yes, I'll be AtoZ'ing. I split my theme.
Sounds like a difficult theme to me. Best of luck with it. I didn't join the Big Reveal as I don't have a specific theme although I will still be posting recipes.
JO ON FOOD, MY TRAVELS AND A SCENT OF CHOCOLATE
Sounds like a really interesting theme. Looking forward to it! π
Wow- an introspective A to Z all about writing. I'm not sure I could do that. Looking forward to your posts!
A2Z Mommy And Whatβs In between
Looking forward to being inspired! Will definitely be checking in during the challenge to see your posts! This will be my second year doing the challenge. My blog is about movies so for the challenge I will be featuring memorable movie props from A to Z.
Your theme is going to be really cool!
This is a great idea! I'll be doing some self-examination myself along the way. π

Oh No, Let's Go… Crazy
Dude, now that's bravery in blogging, right there. Good luck!
wow an interesting and intense theme – good luck with that and thanks for taking part in the Big Reveal – David
Looking forward to the posts! I've done the A to Z the last two years, but decided I better not participate this year. I gotta get my novel finished, so I'm going to take off the month of April. I'll still be checking in on what everyone else wrote though. π
Sounds intriguing…can't wait to see how you inspire us:)
This sounds so interesting and I'm definitely visiting during #atozchallenge!
This should be interesting! Thanks for co-hosting by the way. That seems like a huge task.
I'm participating for the first time and will be covering topics related to my debut novel <a href="http://charitybradford.com> The Magic Wakes</a>. I've been writing and scheduling and am up to the letter Q. I'm hoping to comment during the month and not write the posts–I'm bad about commenting normally too. π
What a great idea!!!
