Just when I thought the A to Z April Blogging Challenge 2013 would go on forever, it is nearly over! What did you think of it? Did it benefit your blog? I’m co-hosting it on Amlokiblogs, so drop me a comment there if you have something to say about the challenge itself. On this blog, I’ve been featuring mostly indie-published book excerpts for all of April. I love reading, and supporting author-friends, and this is a good way to do both.
Today, for W, I give you a suspense-thriller: Wishbone by Brooklyn Hudson.
Elevator Pitch: A Manhattan power couple survive a tragedy and attempt a fresh start only to be plagued by unexplained and disastrous occurrences…be careful what you wish for.
Excerpt:
Rachael felt lightheaded, working quickly with one free arm; the other still balancing her confused and curious 18 month old. Using her daughter as bait, she knew she would have only seconds before the baby began to wail. She turned away and rushed for the coop door. She pressed her back up against the wall hiding just beside it. The baby whimpered as Rachael created distance between them. The whimper became a whine, and then an explosive cry.
Are you a suspense fan? Would you buy this book?

This book looks interesting. I love the cover–simple but intriguing.

A great read! The quality of Ms. Hudson’s writing, her storytelling, the characters, all excellent. I highly recommend Wishbone to anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading it.
Thank you for the kind words…so glad you enjoyed the book!
B
Thank you so, so much!

I read Wishbone months ago and loved it! Still waiting for Wishbone II. Can’t get the characters out of my head. Ms Hudson has a way of describing scenes so you almost feel like it’s a movie.
Thank you, Ann! Believe me…”Julien” gets far more fan mail than I ever will. Thank you so much!!!

Wish I had started blogging earlier because I am kinda in love with this challenge! The books sounds great and really appreciate the idea of exposing lesser knowns books, they’re usually gems that no one knows about. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy your blog (my bank account doesn’t though, too many good books 😉
Not sure if you plan to check WISHBONE out, but I wanted to thank you for stopping by!

Suspence is really good. It creates more fear than blood can ever hope to. I’m not going to lie though, I came here because I thought you might be talking about the TV show and dog called Wishbone.
Sam, I absolutely agree. I prefer my monsters to be created in the mind of the reader. As for the dog, uh…NO!
