Author friend and blog + twitter pal K T Hanna runs a twitter hashtag for writers, the #writemotivation , where writers sign up and cheer each other on to their respective goals.
The Rules:
- Make a list of realistic goals for the month – and achieve them.
- Make
a Blog Post every week (preferably Monday, but if you don’t post on
Mondays just add it to the next day you would normally post ).
This is to help us keep tabs on our own progress, and for others to
cheer us on if it’s a difficult week. Please link to the post in the
#writemotivation hashtag - Visit your #writemotivation teammates’ blogs, and participate in the #writemotivation hashtag on twitter to cheer people on.
1. Four blog posts a week, two on each blog.
2. 5000 words a week on the second draft of my #WIP |
||
will be offline for the coming two weeks, so the blog part will be
mostly scheduled. I have to sneak in time whenever I can. 2 posts done
for this week, 2 to go.
know when I’ll be writing the 5000 for this week but I’m guessing some
of it will get done tomorrow. I have zero words done so far. Panicking!!
Those are great goals! Good luck on them!
Don't panic! One good writing session could take you halfway to your goal. I haven't done much this week myself. I feel that bit of panic tickling too.
Good luck with your goals!
I love it when synchronicity sneaks up on me. Last week, frustrated because I'm so way off the schedule with my multiple WIPs, I decided I'd give myself a day of accountability on the blog, and posted it on Sunday. Then, early on Monday, I saw this post of yours on my RSS feed–perfect 🙂 Thanks for pointing me in the right direction (again), Damyanti, and happy travels!
How fun to have your own personal cheering section! Writers need this. I love rule #1: Make a list of realistic goals for the month – and achieve them.
I especially love the achieve them part.
Good luck with all your goals! I can relate to the panicking, but I'm sure you'll finally find a way to sneak in some writing!
Good luck with your goals. =)
Writing is always a challenge for me while traveling. I even write and schedule my daily tweet tales in advance because I never know if I'll be able to get to them. Wishing you the best of luck with your goals!
Great way to keep goals alive and reachable.
You will get the words in. Somehow, someway :).
And if you need cheering on, that's what #writemotivation is for ;).
I so need to sign up for #Writemotivation! I think having a goal would help me get more done.
Good luck on your goals 🙂
Good luck with your goals. Last week I didn't write one thing on my MS or my blog. Had the grand baby. Will have him next week, too.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly
The hashtag sounds like a great idea. I reached a milestone today when I realized I had written 101,330 words of fiction so far this year. My goal is 200,000, which isn't much when you do the math and find it's only 550 a day. Anyway, I've reached the halfway mark and I'm picking up speed!
Good luck with your goals, every one!
What a great motivator! I'm sure you can get the 5000 words!
That's a cool way to cheer each other on.
