Teaser Tuesday: A #Book about After Life

This Tuesday, it is time for the teaser again, and this time the book is something I picked up at a secondhand book sale long ago, After Life.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here are two teaser sentences from
After Life:

After Life by Rhian Ellis

After Life by Rhian Ellis

“She realized she could know some things. My mother began in honesty, and ended in fraud; I began in fraud, and ended in something at least close to truthfulness.

Blurb: ““First, I had to get his body into the boat”. This ominous opening begins a tale of secrets and lies, visions, and hovering spirits. At its center is Naomi Ash, a young woman who has come of age on the frigid banks of a western New York lake community called Train Line. Here she grows up and falls in love in a town where mediums, spiritualists, and professional clairvoyants hold “psychic fairs” to help make ends meet. When the skeleton of Peter, Naomi’s ex-lover, surfaces, the mystery of his death must be uncovered. In the process, Naomi, now a clairvoyant herself, unveils a world where the secrets of the dead cannot stay buried and where her past must confront her precarious present.

This one is creepy good..I’m happy I picked it up on a whim.
