Calling for #bloggers to help form Team Damyanti for the #atozchallenge

As in the last two years, I am co-hosting the A to Z challenge 2014If you haven’t done this before, I recommend checking it out. Here’s why you should join, and here’s what will bring you the most benefits as a blogger. Its founder Arlee Bird says:

The premise of the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge is to post something on your blog every day in April except for Sundays.  In doing this you will have 26 blog posts–one for each letter of the alphabet.   Each day you will theme your post according to a letter of the alphabet.

You will only be limited by your own imagination in this challenge.   You can post essays, short pieces of fiction, poetry, recipes, travel sketches, or anything else you would like to write about.  You don’t have to be a writer to do this.  You can post photos, including samples of your own art or craftwork.   Everyone who blogs can post from A to Z.  You’ll find the sign-up list here, and the list already looks long!If you sign up, help us spread the word on social media.

Blogging from A to Z April Challenge

2014 A to Z Blogging Challengerd on social media!

Now for the part where I need your help in co hosting the A to Z April Blogging Challenge:

Co-hosts have a long string of behind-the-scenes duties, and last year we sought help from within the blogging community.
So assisting a co-host is good way to prove your mettle, and who knows, you might get invited to co-host next year. One of my team last year, Pam, is a cohost this year. As is AJ who helped Tina last year, and MJ, who helped Nicole. The only condition of applying for Team Damyanti is that you should have participated in AZ before, because participating the first time is quite a job in itself!
As an AZ assistant, you also get the following perks:

  1.     You’d get a special badge emailed to you to display on your blog showing your status. Most of the co-hosts have their own, personalized badges displaying their assistants, and we all stick them in our sidebars too, so everyone would know whose assistant you’d be.
  2.      You’d also be listed as an assistant on the A-Z Challenge Blog and that would probably bring you more traffic since a Lot of people read that blog.
  3. Summed up– expect a jump in followers and traffic if you join as a volunteer.

Consider joining a co-host, either Team Damyanti, or any of the others whose teams you’d like to be part of, and take your A to Z Blogging Challenge to the next level! Drop me a comment or an email at atozstories (at) gmail (dot) com. I already have two fab assistants for 2014, looking for 3 more.

My team is now filled up. If you want to volunteer, comment on this post, and you might be chosen by one of the other co-hosts!

  • You have thrown down the gauntlet ! Would like to pick it up but it will be a major challenge cause I will be travelling half the month. However read that you/someone else had already started drafting posts . (which had not struck me ) so maybe I could work it out if I can post on the go. Giving it some serious thought. Meanwhile BEST to all the participants.

  • I would be interested to take part in this venture!

  • The Challenge looks amazing and I’m interested in joining it, the only thing that’s stopping me is that most of my posts start with the word “The”. Would that count as a post for the letter T or would you count the first letter of the following word as the designated letter for the post?

    • Damyanti says:

Well, we can all make exceptions– the title doesn’t necessarily matter in case you’re following the challenge with the aphabets in some way.

  • uniqusatya says:

Whoa seems lot of fun. Volunteers, teams,co hosts, participants……am just looking out where do i fit in 😉

  • I’d love to be a co-host, but I’ve never joined this challenge before. Ah well I’ll join the challenge this year so next year I can apply myself as a co-host candidate.

  • Charu says:

Hey Damyanti, I’m up for the adventure! First time…fingers crossed. Singed up! Now, where do i get the badge?

  • beloome says:

Am still thinking about participating in the challenge…seriously thinking! The challenge does look interesting, and of course challenging 🙂 Maybe after a few more days of brewing and chewing, I will know if I am up to it!

  • Sogy says:

Interesting. I have never participated in any challenge. And posting everyday itself is a daunting task. Adhering to a particular theme for 26 days, that will mostly require me to quit my day job! I envy you all.

  • Cimmorene says:

I can’t wait to read this when they start getting published!
Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t been by lately. I’ve just had a very triggering week. I spent the past week working myself up to and actually writing the post where I tell the full story about me and Mr. X. I plan to publish it on Saturday. In the meantime, I’m having to climb out of the hole I’ve flung myself into as a result.

    • Damyanti says:

Hey, huuuuuuuugs. I hope you’re feeling loads better. It is a long uphill battle, but you have the right attitude and you’ll come through.

      • Cimmorene says:

I’m starting to feel better, but I imagine I weigh a lot more now than when I started out. I definitely need to find a way to battle depression that doesn’t include food.

  • numerounity says:

Hey Damyanti! I would love to join you 🙂
Yes, I did participated last year and did my bit as well all 26 alphabets I guess 🙂
    Waiting to hear from you.

    • Damyanti says:

hi, thanks! But my team is full now. Please drop a comment at the http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com website. They have a post asking for helpers–‘Would you like to help too’– some of the cohosts need volunteers still. We would be happy to have you on the volunteer team.

  • Shilpa J says:

I’d love to join the challenge for this year. I have just one question though: Can I participate even if I can’t put up the badge on my blog? See I’m using one of the modern blogger templates and I tried putting the badge up but it wouldn’t display on my blog for some reason. I’m trying to get it to work but if it doesn’t, can I still participate?

    • Damyanti says:

You should be able to put up a badge, because most blogs allow you to put pictures, if not codes. Just add the AZ badge as a picture in the sidebar, and link it to the sign-up page in case the blog allows picture links.

      • Shilpa J says:

I googled around for a bit and found out I can’t add pictures to my sidebar 🙁 (I’m using the Dynamic Views template by Blogger). Looks like I won’t be participating this year…maybe next time then!

  • Reblogged this on one-romanc/e-reader and commented:
Wow Wow Wow! How did I miss this?!

  • jnitro519 says:

Ms. Damyanti.. Seems the link to register is closed already? i wanna join but dont know where or how.. First timer.. and im scared! just hopped into this blog industry just 3 months back.. But i really wanna do give it a try. Thanks in adv. 🙂

    • Damyanti says:

The list will close end-March. It is very much open– sometimes the linky list crashes– but is usually back up in less than an hour. Try again, and you’ll get in. Please read all the instructions carefully before you add your name, so you get it right in one shot.

  • jnitro519 says:

Atozchallenge? Why not! theres always a first time, right Damyanti?!:)

  • BrammA says:

I got it Damayanti! I’m in! Thanks anyhow 🙂

  • BrammA says:

    Hi Damayanti.
I’m a first time participant. So I’m, by default, ruled out of being a part of your team. I’m aware. But that apart, how do I take part in the challenge?

    • Damyanti says:

Welcome to the challenge. I visited your blog and left a comment. If you want more followers, take away captcha and replace it with comment moderation.

  • garyalipio says:

very interesting, txs for the challenge

  • Damyanti says:

To everyone who signed up, and has commented here:

<<<<<>>>>> Let’s do this!!! I love you all, and thanks for joining the challenge with me.

  • Love the idea, Damyanti. I wish you luck with this.

  • Fraukje says:

Hey, I just added a little extra challenge to the already challenging challenge. I ask my readers (yes YOU) to give me a letter assignment. Please check it out on http://lifeonthegoldenrock.wordpress.com/2014/01/28/challenge-me/ and give me a hard time 😀

  • Laura says:

I’ve started a list. I have 4 blogs, each different. If I can come up with a preliminary list of at least 20 for any of them, I may just do it. Good to have advance time!

  • smilingldsgirl says:

This sounds fun. I’ll sign up but I just hope I remember in April.

    • Damyanti says:

If you sign up, you’ll be sent an email reminder in April. Follow @AprilA2Z on twitter and the FB page– you’ll get more reminders than you want 🙂

  • Shall give it a shot!

  • colonialist says:

I’m still trying to recover from 2012 when, in a fit of insanity, I did Really Awful Rhymes with every line beginning with the letter of the day.

  • lauralord says:

Yay! Just signed up…I’m going to need more wine.

  • Jemima Pett says:

I want to be your minion, Damyanti – it’s my third year too.

  • Signing up for the third year and happy to be a mignon for any of the co- hosts.

  • Rosie Amber says:

I’ve signed up, I had a great time last year and am looking forward to meeting loads of new bloggers again this year.

  • Rajiv says:

I have entered this, but I have no clue about how to get the badge!

  • I’m signing up to the challenge again this year. I loved last years and found the pressure of the month gave me a push and I produced better content!

  • Good to know that, I have entered my name, 🙂

  • Haven’t participated yet, but I’d like to. What do you think about pairing National Poetry Writing Month and the A-Z challenge? It sounds doubly challenging, but it might be fun!

  • Megan.S says:

I am very interested in joining this challenge, but the Linky Tools isn’t letting me sign up 🙁

  • Joining the challenge. I’ll start writing now! I’ll just have a problem trying to keep myself from posting them already. April seems too far off… 😀

Can’t assist you as this is my first time to join. Not after the increase in hits (although that wont be so bad at all), but I just want to force myself to be more prolific 🙂

  • Reblogged at my space simplyvegetarian777 . Sounds like loads of fun but the commitment part is scary… I am in though!…….will try to stick with the challenge as much as possible :).. Go team Damyanti.

A to Z challenge in April 2014. Sounds like fun. Anybody? I am thinking about it.

  • I wished I was skilled enough and no doubt I am definitely challenged. I have heard, “Challenged”, mumbled and whispered by people behind me I didn’t even know since I can not forget! If you know what I mean?
So Ms. Damyanti, maybe I could sharpen pencils, chew gum or be a believable “yes” man for any ideas you may have! I don’t look to good in T-shirts but want a Team Damyanti one. Shucks! I’ll do anything and won’t feel guilty for it, good or bad! So let me know and if not, I will have great content for my therapist…..

    • Damyanti says:

Awww. That’s so sweet of you.
I’m not taking AZ first timers as part of my team cos I might be away during part of thechallenge, and may not have time tohand hold. But I have great co-hosts who need volunteers, so let me know if you’d want to join any of them.

      • Damyanti,

I can hold my own hand. I always do! But like I said, “I will do anything”, and I meant it! So you let me know……
        claudy
PS Since I have over 3000 virtual paintings just hiding from public view dealing with all sorts of issues! Coming up with ideas has been not a problem since I can remember…..but the T-shirt is really what I am after……….. In fact, I noticed the artwork for the challenge needs me but again that is something only I know…….Okay? Okay…….

        • Damyanti says:

Send me an email at atozstories at gmail dot com, and I’ll include you in the volunteer list– not on my team, cos I have to stick to non-first-timers I’m afraid, but we have excellent co-hosts who have tons of stuff they need help with.

          • Damyanti,

That will be fine! I am working on NathanA’s website and just finished his CD cover and inside jacket for DownBoy! As seen on your PBS Station Live from Belmont University, Nashville. My plate is full! But will love to..Will do….Thanks, There’s nothing like the first time! claudy

    See you there! I’m in!

  • Hi I would like to take this challenge but since I will be a first timer I would be needing a helping hand at every step.

  • drminna says:

I’m in! Although it’s my first time..

  • Count me in. Now, I’m off to plan my theme.

  • Arlee Bird says:

If I didn’t have my own team to think about I’d want to be a part of Damyanti’s team. You can learn a lot from her.

  • Victoria says:

I’ve only done one blogging challenge and I’m up for this one! I signed up and looking forward to it!

  • I never did any blogging challenge so far, but I’m very much tempted to join this one! It sounds fun and with so many creative possibilities! I wish luck to anyone doing it and helping as co-host.

I’ll wait until March to see whether I decide to hop in or not, depending on what I have on my plate, but I am very tempted! Thanks for spreading the word!
