What have You Written Recently? #writing #blogging

linky list for writing and publication

While doing the rounds of all my favorite blogs in the past week, I found I’d missed reading so many posts.

By next weekend, I’d like to catch up on what I’ve missed, whether it is a post or a story, a poem, an article, a novel.

So here’s a Linky list, open till Saturday, 22nd Sep. I invite you to add links to one of your posts/ books/ articles from the past few months. I may have read them, but sharing them here will let others the chance to do so as well.

linky list for writing and publicationIf you have a wish for this item you’re linking to, please post that as well–I’ll do my best to fulfill it. I can, and will do the following where possible: share blog post/ article on social media, comment, and in the cases of books, buy them.

I’ll delete spam and keep the list tidy and the linky list will remain up, till further notice. Please help others in the list fulfill their wishes, as well, and leave a comment on what you’ve done.

(If you include links to social media posts where you’ve shared links from the list, they might go into moderation, but I’ll rescue each one.)

In the linky list above, please do the following:

  1. Link to the blog post/ article/ novel you want read, and not to your blog. I’ll delete links that lead to home pages and websites.
  2. In the Blog Title part of the Link form, add the genre and the title (For instance: Novel: The Old Man and the Sea).
  3. Please fulfill the wishes of others on the list–a small bit of giving that will bring smiles–not a compulsion, but I know most of you would help, anyway.

Do NOT do the following with the linky list:

  1. Do not add spam or any links that are not PG13.
  2. Do not add homepage links to Websites/ Blogs.
  3. Do not add more than one link.
  4. Do not ask me to edit/ make changes to the list. (I edit typos without being prompted, don’t worry).
  5. Do not spam others asking for your request to be fulfilled. People like to buy/ share on social media of their own accord.

I hope to have a few things to read by the next weekend!

What have you written recently? Would you add a link to one of your recent posts or publications to the linky list? How have you been in the past few months? Does your blogging suffer when life intervenes? What wish from the list have you fulfilled? What is the one thing I can do to help promote your work?

I wrote nothing recently. A week-long trip to Udaipur was so crucial to my sanity. I write so much that I had to get away from my laptop, my work space and routine and find my equilibrium.

  • aj vosse says:

    Thanks Damyanti! 😉

  • Rubina Ramesh says:

You have one awesome blog Damyanti. I can see you really put so much effort. Reading every post, commenting. Hats off to you!

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Thanks Rubina. I’ve made some very good friends thanks to this blog in the past 10 years. I love chatting with them, and making new ones. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Thanks for this! I was wondering if you could do a post on how much time it takes to make a successful blog. Not so much a timeline, but how much time you spend writing, promoting, etc. And what makes a successful blog different from a hobby blog, in terms of time spent. If you’ve done one like this, I didn’t see it. But I would love to know what your daily life looks like with keeping up with this!

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Hey, thanks for stopping by. Intriguing question, and no I’ve never made a post on it—maybe I will now?

For what it’s worth, this is a bit of a hobby blog that kind of hosts publishing professionals sometimes.

Mine is certainly not a professional blog, and I think it is successful—but only on my terms.

I’ve made a ton of friends via this blog, some of whom have become friends offline as well—and to me, that’s success.

Different people define success differently, though.

You’ve given me an idea for a post, so Thankyou for that and hope to see you here again soon!

  • aj vosse says:

Think I may have got that wrong… I placed a link to my blog! 😉

  • Shalini R says:

That’s really so nice of you! Thanks, Damyanti for giving an opportunity to link up. I missed reading so many fantabulous posts while on a break. Now that I am back, I would want to read more. Your linky helps 🙂

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Welcome back, and I hope to read more of you in the coming weeks!

  • Anagha Yatin says:

Thats really a sweet gesture Dmayanti. I now have a treasure trove of good reads here. Thanks for coming up with this idea.

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

You’re welcome, Anagha! There are some excellent writers linked up.

  • Rachna says:

This is quite some gesture, Damyanti.

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Just an attempt to read others, and for all of us to read each other.

  • dgkaye says:

Lovely linkup you offered here Damnyanti. Thanks for the shares. 🙂

  • Parul Thakur says:

Trust you to spread cheer like this. I will post and link and read as many as possible from this collection. 🙂

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Thanks, Parul. I’m sure everyone here would appreciate your visits!

  • Rajlakshmi says:

I love this idea to catch up on blogs. A great way to be involved in the blogging community inspite of gaps. I myself have missed reading in the past few weeks. Hopefully will catch up soon.

    • I might even make it a regular feature—am enjoying this wide diversity of links, and going by the hits I see on each link, so is everyone else!

  • RasmaSandra says:

This is a great idea. Sorry that mine popped in twice. You can delete one link to Touring Delaware. Just the PC having the hiccups.

  • Nice List 🙂

  • Jack Shalom says:

Thanks so much for the opportunity.

  • pjlazos says:

Damyanti, you are what Malcolm Gladwell refers to as a “Connector.” Always giving. You’re awesome. oxo

  • Shailaja V says:

This is a lovely initiative and I do hope a lot of bloggers get quality engagement and traffic thanks to this. Such a nice idea, Damyanti 🙂

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Hi Shailaja, I hope that everyone gets a little out of this. 🙂

  • writershilpa says:

You are such a darling girl, Damyanti!! I don’t know anyone else doing this…asking people to share their links so that you can read their posts. Or, asking them how you can help promote their posts!
As for me, you read whatever I write, each and every time, and for that I am so grateful to you!
    Love!!!

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Well, If I go offline for long periods, I must do what I can to catch up :). And it is always a pleasure to promote others–writing is hard enough, it is harder to still to promote what we write.

I do try and read all your posts, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add any to the linky–others would like your blog as much as I do.

  • Rebecca Bryn says:

I’ve added a link to my new title, The Dandelion Clock a tale of lovers torn apart by the Great War. It’s inspired by my grandparents’ experiences of wartime.

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Thanks! Have downloaded a sample, and will download the book once I’m on my kindle.

  • I’ve added a link to a fascinating interview with artist Carolina Russo. She is a lovely lady and a great creative talent so please do give her some love. <3 https://mjmallon.com/2018/09/16/a-huge-welcome-to-artist-carolina-russo-art-music-nature-creativity/

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Thanks Ian. Pls add it to the linky list so it doesn’t get lost among the comments?

  • sjgreenhart says:

My book isn’t out yet, but here’s something I wrote for y blog recently. 🙂

  • This is a wonderful idea and I think you for the opportunity. I can not do that right now because it appears my elderly mother in law is on the edge of another health crisis, but if things ease in the next few days, I may come back and post on the linky.

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, Alana–hope she’s on the mend soon. You’re welcome to add to the linky anytime.

  • I’ve just published a new novel! In fact, it’s still on pre-order. I added a link to my blog post announcing it. Thanks for this opportunity, Damyanti!

  • Hi – Been vacationing from the reading (I still have 11 books to go) and rewriting for a bit. I check in on blogs or post them now and again. Other than that, not much to report!

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Claire, reading is the best way to pass time and travel, as far as I’m concerned :). Look forward to reading more from you.

  • JT Twissel says:

I haven’t been posting much lately – I’ve been working on a book.

  • Ana Daksina says:

Good for you for reaching out to fellow writers! I put a link in your list — and since my health does not permit me to cope with both maintaining my blog and following social media, my wish for it would be for some exposure in that arena!

Please accept my thanks and blessings, on behalf of all of us, for being such a great community member ?

  • Buki Alamu says:

    Hi,

I have written 2 books in times past which I am looking to make new editions of. I am looking for volunteers who may be interested in reviewing them and giving their feedback in making this new editions possible.

If you are interested, please email me on [email protected]

    • Damyanti Biswas says:

Hi, you might want to mention the genre and word count of your books–this will help people decide if they would like to read/ review, etc.
