i totally agree; often we end up being too harsh on self and that drives us insane.Compassion towards self is a good start to fighting away the depression and inferiority complex. nice pic
Compassionate towards yourself…nice titly! I know we have to follow this, but very rarely we do, esp. women here, always think about family first…well, most of them!
What a cute photo and I love this theme for your A to Z. As a travel blogger, I'm already loving the opportunity to explore other sites outside my own community that I would not normally make time to do.
As for compassion to oneself…for me, it's all about being true to yourself, shutting your ears to negative influences and opening them to positive. Life is too short not to get out there and live life by your own rules.
Love love love this photo! My puppy does this all the time. It is so hard to be compassionate with oneself, especially, I think if you are putting your words (or art of any type) out to be read by others. Thank you for the reminder…
A basic tenet of Buddhism, compassion toward others, and for yourself. This made me think of the Jack Kornfield quote: “If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.”
I agree… sometimes creative types, like writers, tend to hard on themselves when things don't go right. We need to remember to take a step back to acknowledge the good stuff too.
Cute shot! For some reason that breed of dog always seems like it just might suddenly turn to you and say something in English! Sure, I'd be shocked, but it would make sense somehow. Anyway, I think it's a fun idea that you've decided to go wordless to A to Z this month. It's my first year and I'm having a lot of fun meeting people and finding new blogs. ~Tui
Fun topic for the A to Z! I'm also a fulltime writer and it can be so easy to put myself last sometimes. I need to find a better balance. Thanks for the reminder and the cute dog pic!! Happy A-to-Z 2013! ~Angela, Whole Foods Living
That dog looks blissed out…makes me want to lick my nose; actually, I just tried but couldn't reach it. As a life coach, I do agree with the importance of making sure that you're intact before trying to help others.
In order to truly be good to others you must be good to yourself first! And sometimes it seems easier to be compassionate to others than to ourselves. Good reminder to give yourself a break, too!
Love your nose, your eyes, your skin! How can you expect to be loved by someone if you are unable to show compassion for your own weaknesses and love yourself! Wow!
Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm wondering if you know J.C. Martin… interesting idea to go wordless. I need some compassion for myself this morning – it's one of those days!

That cutie-patootie doggy definitely loves it's own nose. 🙂 I love my nose because it brings smells to life, although I'm not a fan of licking my own nose. Luckily, that's not a problem because my tongue won't reach that far. 😉
He's just showing off!! I try that trick, as I stand in a crowded bus terminal, and people edge away in fear! The little, cute dog does it and he's adorable! Not fair! HeeHee Great choices once again. It's nice to be able to leave a comment! I'd like to thank Maccy D's for the use of their Wifi in these trying times and to you fro the Great choices.
Thats a cute pic and I like all thrree phrases so far looking forward to the rest. This is my first time in this challenge. I very grateful that I am getting to meet so many wonderful people.
Fida summed it up best. Loving yourself is extremely important, and it's sad that so many people hate themselves. When a people hate themselves, they are unhappy and they spread loads of negativity around.

What a good looking fella, tried concentrating on your words…….but was tooooooooooo distracted 🙂
lovely reminder and cute doggie
That is the perfect picture for putting a smile on one's face!
And a wonderful sentiment 🙂

Really cute photo! I agree with the commenters above, about women not showing enough compassion for themselves.
Many times, we show compassion towards others but are too hard on ourselves ! What a cute photo!
Compassionate towards yourself…nice titly! I know we have to follow this, but very rarely we do, esp. women here, always think about family first…well, most of them!
Love this picture!
To me it should be not to be so hard on myself. Why does it seem easier to cut others some slack but not so much ourselves?
Cute pic 🙂
I think I'm fairly compassionate with myself. That is not one of my problems 🙂
I've enjoyed contemplating your images. This is a tough one. Having two young boys, they come first. I need to work on this for my own sanity.

Wonderful "C" post!
Ah! Love the picture and great advice.

Like others have said, if you love yourself, that will spread out to other people.
Oh how cute. Might be my favorite one today!
This is sometimes the hardest lesson, but oh so needed.
Your phrase was thought provoking and I was just thinking that I need to give myself a break every now and then.
The photo is adorable!
Comparing only leads to insecurity. I think. 🙂
What a great pic and oh so cute!

Oh those mental lists we make — critical, critical, critical, mostly about ourselves. We need to change those lists. Thank you for the reminder.

I love this pic. Adorable doggie.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Geez! A dog can teach us so many things besides compassion but one I was told that was the most important attribute we could develop.
Very true and so cute!

What a beautiful photo! Compassion is a wonderful word. Love your challenge theme, Damyanti, on both your blogs!

So true….we just sometimes need to go easy on ourselves!
Lovely , yes compassion to self comes before all the other compassions and sympathies ! 🙂

We are works in progress. 🙂
We are often hardest on ourselves… We must learn to be kind to ourselves the fore inviting kindness from others into our lives….
enjoying one's own company ! Grooming one self. Loving one self
can any thng be better than this ?!:)
Like charity begins at home, compassion starts with self. Good point.
I absolutely LOVE the picture you chose to go with this!

What an adorable dog! And a very nice capture too. <3

I always forget about me when I'm dishing out the support/advice. Love that photo. I want to cuddle him.

Another great phrase. And just the right picture to go with it! 🙂
That's a necessity in our world today!
How true is that! They say when you love yourself, everything else falls into line!
Great quote. If you can't be happy and love yourself, how to you expect to be able to for others?
If you love yourself and treat yourself with respect, you can be sure to emulate the same to others 🙂
I have always considered myself to have attributes of a dog! Was so glad to see your blog
