For all of April, I’m going wordless for the A to Z Challenge.
For this year of AZ on Amlokiblogs, the title of each post is a phrase/ sentence that inspires me as a
writer, and below is a picture I think best embodies it. In the
comments, I invite you to discuss what the phrase means to you, as a person, a
reader, a writer, or whatever other role you might choose for yourself in life.

Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the men of old Image via Dave Wicks |
Wow, that is good! Very thought provoking… separates pride from purpose! Love the theme!!!

I like your silent wordless blog idea. What a nice reflection idea. I like this quote wish you had put who said them somewhere. I guess I am a seeker of the kingdom of God and strive to live by and follow the teachings of Jesus. What he sought was to bring each of us back into a right relationship with the Father. Not meaning to be preachy but that what this quote and photo caused me to think about.
Have a great A-Z

Oh! That is a very inspiring thought. Love the other one with the puppy too!
That's a great quote to live by. Also, what a beautiful photo! I want to be there. Seeking all the things.
This is a very good statement….I've never heard it before. It makes for great inspiration. Thank you for stopping by! I am following!!! Have a great weekend.
Such a fabulous pic…………it drew me in completely. And paths need to be made not followed, as rightly said.
A very thought provoking quote and an amazingly beautiful pic!
This photo inspires me to think about peace and calmness. Lovely pic!
I apply this to having parents and being a parent at the same time. You can't do exactly how your parents did, even when it was great. You have to seek being a good parent just as they hopefully did. I love you theme!
Great quote and photo. Bit like see the path before you but make your own way there!
Interesting quote. Beautiful picture!
Learn from the mistakes of those who came before us and attempt to conquer what they failed to accomplish…
Nice! Love the quote and the pic.
I'm not sure what I think about the phrase, but I love the picture. I could go walking there as long as I wouldn't get eaten up by bugs (the part I like least about nature, since I'm apparently a gourmet treat).
What a great idea for the challenge. Your quote and picture are perfect together. Made me think of an exhibit my husband and I visited several years ago in Cincinnati at a botanical gardens — sorry, forget the name. The plants were just as lush and green as the ones in your picture.

Interesting quote. I think it means don't repeat the mistakes of the past. Or something like that. ^^
Hmm, I guess it means everyone is following a different path, looking for their own reward.
Stunning pic!
Great quote. The picture made me think of the title of a book by M. Scott Peck – The Road Less Travelled.
Great picture and quote combo. I really like your series. Makes me kinda think of some of the mysteries Shannon is thinking of solving from history…perhaps some of these old men were seeking answers to those!

Your quote reminds me of another –
‘The most original authors are not so because they advance what is new, but because they put what they have to say as if it had never been said before.’ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Your quotation is saying to me that we all have to find our own paths even if our goals are the same.
Thank you for sharing this picture – the shaft of sunlight leads he viewer on, but to where?
This is also what I take from the quote.
That image is simply stunning.
Such a beautiful photo! I love the beams of light.

Great wisdom and a stunning picture.
Wow, I love that picture. It looks so peaceful there.
So true. We must walk our own path while clinging on to unchanging principles and values! Good one, Damayanti!
I'm thinking that this saying is about telling people to be original and innovative with the way they think and approach their goals.
Be yourself and make your own road 🙂 Thanks for seeking me out yesterday.

I think what the quote means is to be true to yourself as the men of old were. To follow your own path where ever it may take you. (as in the photo)
I think the last part is general: seek wisdom, success, happiness. Those are the general things we all want. To me, the first part is saying that the details on how to achieve those things should be up to you, to make you an individual. What makes me happy, and what do I want to take to seek happiness?
This quotation is actually on my list of potent quotables. Nice to see it here on your blog! Cheers, Laura (http://buttontapper.com)
Streaming light ,wonderfully captured!
the picture is so serene. I want to go there. now.
There's a lovely mood to that picture. It makes you wonder where that path might lead. Nice choice!
I think today I'm just going to sit here and watch at that awesome picture and listen what it has to say to me. It's evident it has lots to say.
good quote, and the pic is stunning.
I love your challenge theme, and this post is wonderful! It makes me think of the saying that we hope our children/students/followers go farther than we do. There are people who have inspired me, but I don't need to merely follow in their steps; I need to learn from them and BUILD upon what they have already started that inspired me in the first place!
Stunning photo!
And I also think it's necessary to approach life looking forward instead of trying to repeat what has been done before.
Beautiful picture with a meaningful quote. It seems like you practice what you preach, as you have been an amazing A to Z leader Damyanti.
Julie
It looks wonderful on the one hand. On the other, if I knew that I was in a horror movie, I would not go down that path! 😛
But then the picture invites me to follow in the footsteps of the men of old.
JO ON FOOD, MY TRAVELS AND A SCENT OF CHOCOLATE
A wonderful quote with which I agree wholeheartedly.
Make your own path.
Interesting. I'd love to know the source of that quote. To me, it means to follow after the same that has been sought for ages, but that now I must do it my way in the time that I live in the shoes I wear.
Wow, what an amazing photo!!
That is a beautiful place to be.
The picturer is so serene and peaceful. My interpretation to the quote would be that although at time we all seek the same things .. our paths to reach that thing may differ. And it is better to walk on our own path rather than tread on footprints !
Yes the pic is stunning. March to the beat of your own drum it says to me
yes stunning photo. March to the beat of your own drum is says to me
Everyone has dreams, ambitions and goals. A lot of people travelled on different roads but they reached one destination-success.
I am lurrrrrving that photo! Hugs Damyanti!
Maybe as we walk in their footsteps we will realize what they were seeking for. You never know inspiration strikes in the weirdest of places. 🙂
Awesome. I'm going to list your blog under favorites for inspiring quotes and pictures! Thanks for sharing.
This picture draws me in and welcomes me to take a lovely stroll.
Great quote, and I really love this photo.
I think we have to reach the destination by choosing our own paths.
Love the picture 🙂
Such a captivating photo! It made my heart skip a beat…
all should sure go their own way, but remember the past so they know not where to stray.
The pic makes me feel like going and standing there now 🙂
The quote is wonderful
What an inspiring quote! Thank you for sharing.
Your Picture is beautiful.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly
Leave your own footprints in the sands of time. A leader is the one that creates leaders not followers. Great pic!
Wow. That image really caught me eye as I was strolling through Feely. I just keep thinking about how I'd love to be walking along that path, right now!
wonderful pic and thought-provoking quote!
Love it. Though I'm still puzzling it through myself.
I love that picture! To me I think the phrase says we should finish what the generation before us wanted to do, but do it in our own way.
Hmmm..interesting. I guess it means to not copy other people and be yourself. Then the last part, perhaps we are all looking for the same thing.
Oh my, I'm never good at this sort of thing, but to me … and that's the key phrase, TO ME, it means that we should seek our own path. If we seek what they sought, we have to find our own way to get there. 🙂
Very thought-provoking.
