Today’s story starter (in the beginning of the story below in bold) was sent in by S.B. Stewart-Laing and the photo came in from Rae Weaver. The minute I read the prompt, the picture fitted in as a natural and I let it be.

She slept on. The snow continued to fall– silent, thick, and soft, in the absolute quiet of her dreams.

One of my favourites of your stories so far, the loneliness experienced by the character was so keenly communicated through the description of the surroundings.
I love the line, "she stumble not just on her feet but in her thoughts." A beautiful story.
I like this so much. I could feel the loneliness.

truly, my most favorite quiet. That of falling snow. Visiting from the A-Z challenge.
Beautiful winter description with a twinge of melancholy. Loved it.
"as a flake became a flurry, and the flurry a fall."
This line really engaged me. So beautiful.
Also felt the longing in the mom, hope those brats show up!
Thank-you also for co-hosting the challenge. It is my first year and I have enjoyed meeting other great writers, and have had a lot of fun with my own challenge of postings.

Once again, a superb story told in such an eloquent way. Great job!!
Really great writing, will be back for R
OMB but your opening sentence is drop-dead gorgeous.
Beautifully captured sound of winter silence – I was there, watching from the shadows. Nice.
Oh, I love it! Lots of atmosphere. Moody is what I like about it. The image of snow falling makes me want to wish for Christmas again! Good job!
