Will You Join the First Chapter Reading Fun?

All writers are reading enthusiasts

All writers are reading enthusiasts. That’s where the joy of stories stems from, the pleasure and pain of experiencing them, and eventually, of creating them.

Reading, to me, has been a place of refuge, as I’ve said on this space before. Reading from my own work has always been somewhat stressful, though I’ve done it several times–most recently, here. Never the first chapter of You Beneath Your Skin, though.

So it gives me particular pleasure to announce that You Beneath Your Skin will participate in First Chapter Fun, an initiative by two wonderful bestselling authors: Hank Philippi Ryan and Hannah Mary McKinnon.

Hank Philippi Ryan would be reading from You Beneath Your Skin, the first time an American would be reading aloud from the book—fascinating, because Anjali Morgan, the protagonist, is American.

You can join the FB group for readers, First Chapter Fun or follow the live reading on Instagram on July 23rd at 11.30 am Eastern time. You could watch it on Youtube as well. (Depending on the time-zone you’re in, that will be 4.30 PM in the UK, 9.00 pm India time, 11.30 pm in Singapore and Malaysia. It would be a conversation, so if you do join in, please say hello—I’ll be responding to all questions, including completely random ones!)

Check out the books by Hank and Hannah–I read Hanks’s The Murder List over the weekend and was blown away by the ending, and this week I’m reading Hannah’s Sister Dear. Both are bestsellers, and I can absolutely see why.

Thanks so much for all your support for the book, which is continuing to receive reviews. Please tune in on the 23rd, it will be wonderful to see you on First Chapter Fun.

What’s on your reading desk this week? Do you like Crime Thrillers? Are you going to join us for First Chapter Fun with Hank Philippi Ryan reading You Beneath Your Skin?

    Until we meet again..
May flowers always line your path
    and sunshine light your way,
    May songbirds serenade your
    every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.
