Time for my bookish meme, and this week I’m a bit confused about which book to talk about. I’m reading four, and loving all of them. I guess I’ll choose the closest at hand, in the spirit of this meme.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller
Here are two teaser sentences from Notes On a Scandal by Zoe Heller:
The day after Connolly kissed Sheba for the first time, he came to her hut. As soon as he entered, she stood up from her desk and ordered him to leave.
This book is all voice, the nasty narrator who you hate but at whose mercy you remain through the book as she destroys her ‘friend’ Sheba, or at least watches and helps as Sheba destroys herself. I found the book unpleasant but engrossing, as it tore apart prejudices and looked into psychological chasms with equal candor. I can’t believe I hadn’t picked it up earlier.

This book is on my must read list. That’s such a great teaser

Your teaser reminds me of Gone Girl because the main character is not likable or not.

I keep on meaning to buy and read Notes On A Scandal. I have so many other books to read at the moment though.

This is an awesome book! I read it many years ago but still remember it vividly. The narrator repulsed and fascinated me equally!
