Announcing The Release of THE BLUE BAR!

Who has been a source of support in your life? Have you already picked up a copy of The Blue Bar? What did you think of it?
A book is not a lone effort. For the publication pic, that’s my husband.

When I’m on deadline he’s the bearer of breakfasts, solace, back rubs, tea, reminders to eat and sleep.

He was the one who bought me my first secondhand laptop, took me to my first workshops, clicked me at my first book event.

Unlike during the publication of You Beneath Your Skin, there are no events this time, and I’m on deadline for the sequel to THE BLUE BAR, but I wanted to take a few minutes to appreciate the man THE BLUE BAR is dedicated to.

I’m going to miss the deadline because I’ve gutted the book. It’s going to be a stronger, more streamlined read later, but right now it looks like a home visited by a demolition expert. The better half is right there beside me, bringing me breakfast, letting me tell him the story  (yet another time) so I can get it right, and making me excel sheets to fill in the timeline.

The book was an Amazon First Read, got attacked by racist trolls, and is now receiving not-half–bad reviews, including this starred one from Publisher’s Weekly.

Here’s hoping it can keep cracking on. I did ask you all to request the book at your library and I’m happy to report that it’s now on order in so many US libraries, like this one!

If you’d like to help out this diverse US debut without spending a penny, consider requesting the book at your own local library. Libraries are a great way to support the reading ecosystem.

For the year-end holiday break, I worked flat-out, editing, and my long-suffering husband did his best to let me suffer as little as possible.

And then, yesterday, et voilà! THE BLUE BAR was released at the quiet of Seattle midnight (that’s where my publisher is headquartered), and while the world was wildly celebrating and getting hungover, I fell asleep drooling at the laptop. The sequel will be out 24th October 2023, so here’s hoping the next new year for me will see more champagne in glasses and less bodily fluids on work surfaces!

What about you? What did you do for the year end holiday or new year? Who has been a source of support in your life? Have you picked up a copy of The Blue Bar?

My lit crime novel, The Blue Bar is on Kindle Unlimited now. It is also free on Netgalley for the next two weeks.  Add it to Goodreads or snag a copy to make my day.
